The archive of Hochsauerlandkreis is existing since 1980. It is open for all citizens. It takes care, stores, completes, preserves and indexes documents of the history of the adminstration of the Hochsauerlandkreis and its predecessors in title the old-districts Brilon, Meschede and Arnsberg. Thereby it creates the cultural long-term memory of the administration and the inhabitants of the Hochsauerlandkreis.
The archive-library collects books about the Hochsauerlandkreis, its localities and the former duchy of Westphalia.
