The holdings of the archive refer to diverse groups of documents that have been combined into a unit according to logically comprehensible aspects such as their origin, their context of origin and their factual content according to formal characteristics. These include, for example, the files of city and district administrations, but also collections of photographs and newspaper clippings. Die Nutzung der Bestände des Stadtarchiv Kalkar steht allen Interessierten im Rahmen der gesetzlichen Bestimmungen offen. Die Archivnutzung ist grundsätzlich kostenfrei, nur für bestimmte Sonderleistungen (z.B. Kopien, Recherchen durch die Archivmitarbeiter/innen) fallen Gebühren an.
Aus organisatorischen Gründen ist die Benutzung ausschließlich nach Terminabsprache möglich. Wir bitten darum, telefonisch oder per E-Mail einen Termin zu vereinbaren.

Parken:
Im gesamten Stadtgebiet stehen kostenlose Parkplätze zur Verfügung. In unmittelbarer Nähe finden sich Plätze auf dem Marktplatz (Parkscheibe) oder in der Straße "Gasthausstege". Weitere Parkplätze finden sich am Sportplatz (Hanselaerstraße) und am Friedhof (Im Schwanenhorst).
