Public Records
The public records of the city of Dinslaken form the core of the written records. All files created by the city administration are offered to the archive after their retention periods have expired, which keeps a selection and makes it available for research within the framework of the legal requirements.

Collections
The collections complement the public records. Photos, newspapers, maps and blueprints, but also estates of private individuals or thematic collections, are intended to reflect the entire diversity of municipal society. The collections are also divided into different categories:
Collection S - here you will find, among other things, photos, films and newspapers, but also thematic collections on associations, churches or schools
Collection SP – Personal Collections of Private Individuals, mostly on key topics
Collection NL – Estates
Collection D – Individual documents related to Dinslaken
Book holdings
Literature in particular on the history of Dinslaken and the former district of Dinslaken. The books will be successively entered into the OPAC of the city library and can be viewed in the reading room of the archive by appointment.
