Exhibitions and events
The Rhineland Division puts on one exhibition per year. This is accompanied by a series of events in spring/summer and autumn/winter. Depending on the theme and cooperation partners, these events include lectures, discussion evenings, workshops, readings, concerts and other formats. Guided tours of the Rhineland Division are also offered regularly in the run-up to evening events.
In addition, the Rhineland Division regularly organises conferences on regional history and archival science.

Menschen im Fokus - Fotos des Pressebilderdienstes C. A. Stachelscheid 1946–1954
How did people live and work in the post-war period? What motivated them? How did society rebuild itself? How was politics conducted?
The Landesarchiv Nordrhein-Westfalen presents images that attempt to answer these questions in an exhibition on the work of the Düsseldorf press photo agency C. A. Stachelscheid. Carl August Stachelscheid, a photographer since 1939, initially supplied regional daily newspapers after the war, and later also clients from the business world, with photos on all topics of interest to editorial offices: politics, business, work, living conditions, advertising, culture, and sports. The photographs on display, taken between 1945 and 1955, focus on encounters between people in their family, professional, and social environments.
